We had a great showing this weekend at Hearne. More than I expected. It was good to get flying again after such a long "dry" spell.

This event was a massive success with three first-timers participating in their first test fires of their first (hand mixed) motors. Everyone who attended test fired a motor, many if not all with new mixtures that had never been tested before. The safety and success rate was a typical Tripoli Houston pure 100%.

FROM DALLAS HAND MIXED HIS FIRST BATCH OF AP, SINCE 1972, UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF MR. DEMAR WHICH RESULTED IN A PAIR OF 38MM I200 GENERAL GRAY MOTORS AND A SUCCESSFUL SCRAP TEST BURN. TURNOUT WAS GREAT AND EVERYONE HAD A WONDERFUL DAY.

"It's All About The Motor" ~ A simple EX Class and Refresher was hosted by Mr. John DeMar at the Tripoli Houston Rocket & Motor shop in Coldspring Texas on January 15th 2006. Turnout was nice and Joel Rodgers from Animal Motor Works was onhand to offer advice and input as well. Chase Hrncir mixed his first batch under the supervision of Mr. Demar which resulted in a pair of 38mm Standard I200's. All who attended learned something more about rocketry that day.

We had a small get-together on short notice on Sunday January 8th. The Etgens worked on some Amarillo Blue, Dan DeHart did a Amarillo Blue M2800 and John DeMar supervised and instructed Greg Deeter on his first batch, a tweak of John's Purple Punch ][ resulting in a pair of I200's and a successful scrap test burn.

Day 2 was filled with an awesome demonstration of talent in EX with another 100%
success rate, including everything from an M4000 Amarillo Blue "Longer Burn" to the very first 38mm "Skidmark" type "Sparkey Black" 6 grain in EX History!

Skidmark flights were the big hit
of the day. There were
several modroc flights also. David Bachelder used his new wireless
launch controller with success along with a very nice modroc
controller he built. We had had a visit from the Animal crew with
Joel Rogers and Robert Dehate flying several rockets with Animal motors.
